Here is a picture of the hot glass area where I do all my lampworking. I have a Nortel Mid-Range torch with a minor torch on top and a digitally controlled kiln that has a bead door. It's not usually this clean, especially after I’ve been working hard for a number of days.
I use a shoe organizer and pvc pipe to organize all my glass, the smaller jars are for stringers and canes that I have pulled. The pictures on the wall are not my beads, they are beads of some of my favorite bead makers that I like to look at because they are
beautiful.
Pictured right is my polymer clay area, you can see the tumblers that I use to polish sterling silver jump rings and also to polish fired fimo. Directly behind the chair I have my stash of clay in different colors and then my canes which I am always adding to. One artist calls it a cane garden and I really like that analogy.
The clay (Fimo) is so hard that I use a food processor to initially break it up and then I use the pasta machine to complete the conditioning process. The clay is rolled into slabs and then it is ready to be used. I have a motor on the pasta machine, otherwise it would be a very hot job.
And last but not least, here is my metal working table. You can see the Smith Little Torch, the annealing pan, and various other metal working tools on the table. This is where the fine silver is made into jump rings and then soldered, annealed and pickled. I am blessed with a great studio, I never get bored that’s for sure.
This is also where I make the silver core beads andwire wrapping. I hope you enjoyed the tour!
